The main active ingredient of Turkey Tail is Turkey Tail polysaccharide. The polysaccharides extracted from Turkey Tail mycelium and fermentation broth have very strong inhibitory activity against cancer cells. The polysaccharide of Turkey Tail mycelium is protein-containing glucan, while the polysaccharide extracted from the fermentation broth does not contain protein. The inhibitory rate of the extract on mouse sarcoma 180 and Ehrlich cancer was 80% and 100%, respectively.
The anti-tumor effect, immune-enhancing effect and liver-protecting effect of Turkey Tail polysaccharide have been widely used in clinical practice.
